Hay Nets

from $49.95

HayPal offers knotless 1.5” mesh hay nets in both pre-cut sizes and custom cut to your preferred length.

Feeder replacement nets do not include a rope tie as they are intended to mount to HayPal hay net feeders.
Hanging nets DO include a rope for tying off the top of a filled net.

Nets are measured in inches from the end to end when the net is laid flat. 1.5” mesh refers to the size of each individual diamond of net. See the photos below; each of the 4 sides of the ‘mesh’ are 1.5” long. When sewn, the length of each side of the mesh is more like 1.25”. This is how all netting is measured. We do not recommend nets smaller than 1” for HayPal hay net feeders as the aluminum tubing is just under 1”.

48” hay net (approx 3-4 flakes) $49.95
60” hay net (approx 4-8 flakes) $65.95 (best choice for the Fence Top Feeder)

Contact us for custom cut sizes. When the seam is opened up, the net is approx 54” wide.

————————————————————————————————————-

HayPal hay nets are polyester, not nylon or polypropylene. Polyester is more durable, absorbs less moisture (and therefore does not get as hard or crunchy as most nets) and has a softer finish. We like this softer feel on the horse’s mouth, and find that it’s easier to load hay into the depths of the net because of reduced friction.

Knotless vs knotted?

Both work wonderfully well. We prefer the knotless. We have been very happy with them and believe you will be as well. If you are concerned about damaging your horse’s teeth, please check the available research which states that this is not a concern.
